Celebrating Lynette's 60th Birthday

For many of us, a birthday is just another day. Perhaps with the addition of a celebratory toast, a slice of birthday cake or blowing out a candle and making a birthday wish.  But for families with a child or parent facing a life-threatening illness, every day is a gift – every birthday a major milestone and cause for celebration. Lynette Johnson, the founder and heart of Soulumination, who last year faced her own battle with lymphoma, will soon be celebrating her 60th birthday and has just one birthday wish – to raise funds in support of Soulumination’s mission to provide beautiful, professional, life-affirming photographs to the families of critically ill children and adults with children under the age of 18.

In addition to the photographs, Soulumination gives each family an exquisite handmade photo album, a smaller travel-size handmade album for each family member at the shoot, a CD with all the images, up to 60 4×6 prints, a sterling silver bracelet with their child’s photo for each mother, and a professionally framed 5×7 photograph.  Soulumination provides all of this to the families completely free of charge.

In addition, Soulumination shares its photographs with other organizations who are seeking to raise awareness and funds to eradicate various childhood diseases and conditions.  The Soulumination Collection has been displayed in public locations to increase our society’s sensitivity toward families with a gravely ill child, or who have suffered the loss of a child.  The photographs of Soulumination offer families validation of the unique and beautiful spirit of their child, and remind us all that every life is precious, however brief.
